    Professor Mattia Vaccari, Director of the UCT eResearch Centre, invites you to participate in a free inaugural Research Software Symposium hosted by the UCT eResearch Centre in collaboration with IDIA, CBIO, UCT ICTS and UWC.

    Research code, workflows, and software power discovery across every discipline, from astronomy and engineering to health sciences and the humanities. Building a strong and sustainable research software ecosystem is essential for South Africa’s research and innovation future and its global contributions. These elements of the digital research infrastructure are also a cornerstone of open science, enabling transparency, reproducibility, and collaboration across borders and disciplines.

     

    The half-day symposium brings together researchers, research software developers, funders, policymakers, and research managers to share insights, tackle challenges, and shape the future of research software.
